Hi all, my name is George and I am the artist behind The Reclusive Cartographer. I'm based in the UK and I make maps, tokens and other fantasy related illustrations.

I have always been a huge fan of the fantasy genre and even used to write my own stories as a kid which, like the stories of Tolkien and C S Lewis, started with a map. A map that would allow you to travel with your favorite characters on their adventures, even to places where one does not simply walk!

I first started playing TTRPGs in 2018 and immediately feel in love with it, DMing for two separate groups as they traverse my own home-brew continent of Taritha. It was about this time that I got into map-making as an adult, largely as a means to keep track of just where everyone was!

Since then I have honed my skills as an artist and pushed myself to create more and varied content, eventually branching out from Regional Maps to include maps of Settlements, Dungeons and Encounters.

With the launch of my Patreon in 2020, I began to devote more and more of my time to my new passion and gained an awesome community of like minded people who could help me create better and better content.
